The Lore category does not necessarily contain final in-game lore; it is meant to give both an impression of the kinds of stories that might emerge in ATET, as well as highlight the mechanics that might create them, and how we might be able to surface and highlight them for the player.

  • Artifacts - Unique, powerful items that can be found or created within the game. Each artifact has its own history and significance, often tied to the core themes of Fact, Fiction, and Faith.

  • Eidolons - Legendary beings that embody the game’s philosophical principles. Each Eidolon represents a different path of existence, offering unique gameplay mechanics and narrative depth.

  • Incarnations - Playable narrative scenarios, each outlining a potential life story for an Incarnation. These entries demonstrate how the core systems of Fact, Fiction, and Faith can combine to create rich, emergent, and thematically coherent arcs.

  • Longform - Longer, narrative-driven entries that explore the game’s lore in depth. These stories are designed to be immersive and engaging, providing an aesthetic understanding of the game’s universe and its philosophical underpinnings.

  • Places - Unique locations, each with its own history and significance. These entries explore how the physical and metaphysical properties of a place can shape, and are shaped by, the stories that unfold there; providing rich backdrops for Incarnations to interact with.

  • Species - The various species that inhabit the universe. Each entry explores the unique biological and psychological traits of a species, how these traits influence their culture, and how they interact with the core themes of the game.

  • Factions - The denizen Factions of the many Tapestries. Some have unique Anatomy and Cognition. All have their own cultures and Faiths. These entries explore how the physical and mental, and sociological traits of a group shape their worldview and interactions with the universe.

  • Transcripts - In-world documents presented as raw, diegetic text. These transcripts, logs, and reports provide a direct window into the universe’s conflicts and perspectives, using subjective character voices to explore deep lore and dramatize the game’s core philosophical tensions.
