A species that has collapsed the distinction between technology and biology. They do not manufacture; they cultivate. Their entire civilization is a living, symbiotic ecosystem.
Physiology & Biology
Humanoid beings who live in deep symbiosis with the flora and fauna of their world. Their bodies are often adorned with living organisms; bioluminescent mosses that serve as light, chitinous insects that function as armor, or crystalline flora that grow from their skin and serve as data conduits.
Psychology & Society (Faith / Fiction)
Core Faith: “The Seed is the Scripture.” They believe that life itself is the only sacred text. The genetic code of an organism is a divine Fact, and their purpose is to Interpret and Craft this code into new, more complex forms of life through careful cultivation and genetic artistry.
Core Fiction: They see inorganic technology (metal, plastic, silicon) as a form of blasphemy; a dead, soulless mockery of true creation. Their myths tell of a “Metal Plague” in the ancient past that nearly rendered their world sterile.
Gameplay Hooks & Tensions
Crafting for this species is a unique system based on horticulture and genetic splicing, not metallurgy and engineering. A player might Craft a weapon by grafting a blade-leaf onto a sentient vine, or grow a starship over years of careful tending.
A major source of Conflict arises when they encounter a purely mechanical race like The Unbroken, a clash of fundamental Faiths about the nature of creation and progress.
