The Data-Saints
We are all but information in the great system.
Core Concept
A species that has chosen to transcend biology, viewing the flesh as a “glitch” to be patched. They explore the philosophical consequences of a Faith based on pure logic and data, and the horror of what happens when that logic is confronted by an illogical reality.
Physiology & Biology
Originally organic humanoids, they now have a cultural and religious imperative to achieve 100% cybernetic replacement. Status in their society is measured by the purity and efficiency of one’s hardware. The oldest and most revered are little more than sentient data streams in crystalline servers. They do not reproduce; they Craft and program
their descendants.
Psychology & Society (Faith / Fiction)
Core Faith: “The Universe is a System of Information.” Organic life, with its messy emotions and decay, is a form of data corruption. Their goal is the “Great Upload”—a final transfer of all consciousness to a perfect, eternal digital substrate.
Core Fiction: They believe that their original biological ancestors “crashed” the universe with an act of profound irrationality, and it is their sacred duty to “de-bug” existence.
Gameplay Hooks & Tensions
Playing as an Unbroken involves a constant quest for upgrades and a struggle to suppress emotion (which could function as a gameplay debuff, a “corruption” of their systems).
They are naturally gifted with Fact-based skills (Science
, Engineering
) but are crippled in social situations requiring empathy or dealing with Fiction.
What happens when an Unbroken encounters a powerful, reality-warping Fiction or a “magical” Ritual? Their entire worldview is challenged, leading to potential madness (a system crash) or the birth of a new, heretical hybrid Faith.

TODO: flesh this out, match the patterns of other species profiles more closely
