The Anatomical Overview Interface is the Incarnation’s introspective view of itself. It is the player’s window into the intricate architecture of their being, providing a detailed and interactive map of both the physical Vessel and the metaphysical Psyche.

This interface is the core of character understanding and progression. It is where the player can review their Incarnation’s innate capabilities, manage its physical form, and contemplate the nature of its soul. It is both a diagnostic tool and the primary canvas for the high-stakes art of Vessel-Weaving.

The Philosophy: The Body as a Living Schematic

The Anatomy Interface is designed as a living, subjective schematic. It is not a static list of parts, but a dynamic representation of a complex, interconnected system. The presentation is filtered through the Incarnation’s own self-perception, blending objective analysis with subjective feeling. A master bio-engineer and a terrified novice will not see their own bodies in the same way, and the interface reflects this.

The Anatomy of the Interface

The interface is dominated by a central, stylized representation of the Incarnation, which can be toggled between two distinct views: the Vessel and the Psyche.

View 1: The Vessel (The Physical Blueprint)

This view displays the architecture of the physical body.

  • The Schematic: A detailed, rotatable, and interactive schematic of the Incarnation’s current form is displayed. The visual style of this schematic is determined by the agent’s background and skills. An Engineer might see a clean, wireframe CAD model. An Arborian might see an organic, anatomical illustration of roots and circulatory systems.

  • Morphological Slots: The schematic is divided into the core Morphological Slots ([Head], [Torso], [Limbs], etc.). Clicking on a slot zooms in, revealing any Sub-Slots and the Components currently installed.

  • Component Data (The Subjective Readout): Selecting a component brings up its detailed information, filtered through the Incarnation’s understanding.

    • Objective Data: Displays the component’s core mechanical information; its granted Abilities, Attribute influences, and Functional Tags.
    • Subjective Text: The description is written from the character’s perspective. A familiar, well-maintained component might be described as “Old reliable. Never let me down.” A newly installed, unfamiliar cybernetic might read, “Cold. Alien. It doesn’t feel like a part of me yet.
    • Condition & Flaws: Damage to a component is visually represented on the schematic as cracks, leaks, or static discharge. Negative traits from a failed crafting attempt, like a [Haywire Limb], are displayed as a persistent, angry red alert.
  • The Crafting Portal: This interface is the gateway to Vessel-Weaving. The player can select a slot and see which craftable components they have the knowledge and materials to create, initiating the high-stakes process of modifying their own body.

View 2: The Psyche (The Constellation of the Self)

Toggling the view shifts the display from the physical to the metaphysical, showing the architecture of the soul.

  • The Constellation: The interface shifts to the “Inner World” view. The Incarnation’s Psyche is represented as a personal Constellation of the Self. Each Psychic Component is a star, its size and brightness corresponding to its Strength. The lines connecting them show their relationships and potential for conflict or harmony.

  • Metaphysical & Cognitive Slots: The constellation is organized around the core Metaphysical Slots ([Cognitive Model], [Metaphysical Attunement], etc.), giving a clear structure to the soul’s blueprint.

  • The Voice of the Soul: Clicking on a “star” reveals the details of that Psychic Component. The interface displays the core Archetype, Strength, and Valence. Most importantly, it provides a list of the emergent traits generated by that component:

    • The core Faith it seeds.
    • The psychological Needs it generates.
    • The social aura (Social Tags) it projects.
    • The skill Aptitudes it provides.
  • The Path of Growth: This view is also where the player interacts with the Belief Crystallization system. “Narrative Echoes” appear as faint, unformed nebulae in the constellation, which the player can select to begin the quest of Contemplation. A successfully Crystallized Belief appears as a new, small, but intensely bright star, a permanent addition to the Incarnation’s inner cosmos.

Design Intent

This dual-view interface is designed to:

  • Provide a clear and comprehensive character sheet that is deeply integrated with the game’s lore and subjective philosophy.
  • Create a tangible link between the Vessel and the Psyche, showing how the physical and metaphysical halves of the self are interconnected.
  • Serve as the central hub for character progression, giving the player a clear view of their current state and the tools to direct their future evolution.
  • Make introspection a core gameplay loop, rewarding players for taking the time to understand the intricate machine of their own being.
