The Debt-Carriers

To exist is to serve.

Core Concept

Where the Artisans author their children as a perfect expression of their legacy, the Geas-Bound begin life with a form that is not a gift, but a loan. Their existence is conditional, defined by a metaphysical debt to a powerful, external creditor, whom they know as The Weavers of Obligation.

Physiology & Biology

Varies wildly. The Geas-Bound are not a single biological species, but a class of beings created or resurrected by the Weavers of Obligation. Their bodies are constructs, biological, mechanical, or otherwise; granted to them in exchange for a binding oath, or Geas. This Geas is a tangible part of their being, a metaphysical contract that enforces servitude.

Psychology & Society (Faith / Fiction)

Core Faith: "" Their foundational belief is that their life is not their own until their debt is paid. This Faith can manifest as zealous loyalty or bitter resentment.

Core Fiction: Each group of Geas-Bound has a unique “Covenant” story, detailing the terms of their creation and the epic deeds required to achieve freedom.

Gameplay Hooks & Tensions

A Geas-Bound player starts with a powerful, pre-determined Goal or Quest to serve their creditor. Ignoring this quest might cause their body to literally decay or malfunction—a constant, pressing Need.

The ultimate narrative choice is whether to faithfully complete the near-impossible task to earn their freedom, or to find a way to break the Geas, a rebellious act that would make them a hunted fugitive.
