Core Concept

The Harmonists are the orthodox, monastic heart of Ensemblant society. Scarred by the memory of the Shattering that created their species, they have taken a different lesson from the trauma. They believe the collapse was caused by a hubristic attempt to impose a single will upon a complex reality. The ultimate purpose of their collective consciousness is therefore to achieve a state of perfect, internal harmony and to understand the universe in its totality. They are philosophers, scientists, and artists who see their “We” as an instrument for perfect observation, not for intervention.

Ideology (Faith / Fiction)

  • Core Faith: “Harmony is Truth.” The Harmonists believe that the highest state of being is a perfect, stable consensus. They see the chaotic interplay of singular wills in the galaxy as a form of primitive, dangerous noise. Their ultimate goal is to process all available information into a single, unified Theory of Everything, a perfect understanding of the cosmos.
  • Core Fiction: “The Silent Library.” Their vision of paradise is not a place of action, but of perfect knowledge. They believe that once they have understood everything, their purpose will be fulfilled, and they can exist in a state of eternal, contemplative bliss. They have no interest in leaving their home in Mosaic Accord, which they view as the ultimate library of shattered realities, a perfect subject for their endless study.

Goals & Motivations

  • To seek out new knowledge and experiences to be absorbed and processed by the collective, turning the fragmented reality of Mosaic Accord into a library of wisdom.
  • To achieve and maintain a state of perfect internal consensus, which they see as a form of enlightenment and a shield against another collapse.
  • To avoid external conflict, viewing the Swarm-Vanguard’s interventionist crusade as a dangerous repetition of the very hubris that caused the first Shattering.

Player Interaction

  • The Path of Contemplation: Joining the Harmonists is to embark on a quest for knowledge. Your missions will be to explore the strange domains of the Mosaic Accord, recover lost lore from before the Shattering, and mediate internal disputes within the collective to restore harmony. They are a faction of immense knowledge, but their inherent passivity and isolationism make them vulnerable in a hostile galaxy.
